The Root Chakra: Fighting Your Demons with Self Awareness
Updated: Dec 20, 2022
How many times have you said "the devil made me do it" or "battling my demons"? What you may not realize is that those demons are a part of YOU. Your shadow self aka those "demons" are oftentimes the behaviors, thoughts, or feelings that have been ignored and shoved in a closet. The shadow is the misunderstood or often rejected parts of yourself. The ignored rage, disappointment, guilt, shame, un-forgiveness, and heavy emotions eventually seep out the closet (mind/spirit) and can show up as physical ailments, addictions, mental disorders, and poverty (financial and emotional).
When you take a step back you might realize the things you struggle with run in the family. This is often referred to as generational trauma. The best way to deal with your demons is to be accountable. Whenever you feel a big emotion come up, take a pause. You might be relieved to realize it's only a fear, a misunderstanding, or an emotional wound thats ready to be acknowledged. Give yourself permission to react differently to your triggers. You're allowed to analyze that shadow and release the pain, hurt, and regret. You are in control of your space, your mind, and your body.

Laughter is the best medicine!
